About us
Last Hope Refugee Association (LHRA) is a non-profit organization that promotes and protects the human rights of Transgender refugees and asylum seekers and access to justice. It was established on May 20, 2020 in Uganda in a social context marked by violence, criminalization of homosexuality, discrimination and disregard for the human rights of LGBTQIA people in Uganda.
Our Objectives
1. Provide shelter, food, and medical care to Transgender refugees.
2. Offer psychosocial support, counseling, and trauma rehabilitation.
3. Advocate for refugees’ rights, dignity, and protection.
4. Foster community integration and social cohesion.
5. Support economic empowerment through education, skills training, and livelihood programs.
